I will tell you my story about how the unconscious manifests itself.
Once a new phone model was released. Suddenly, out of nowhere, in September.
And I wanted it, very very much. Usually I’m pretty cold to all these new gadget releases, but this time I wanted to buy it!
But my rational part said: “Well, Oksana, what kind of childish behaviour is this? Why do you need it if you bought a new one half a year ago? Or are you like all these *disgustedly wrinkling his face* stupid consumers, run like a fools after viewing ads to make a purchase imposed on you? You’re not like that!»
But then there was another thought, irrational in origin, “But I want thiiiis so muuuuuuch… You can afford it, etc.”
In short, these two contractors fought there and Oksana — pragmatism itself (if I may call it so) won. And Oksana, sighing, gave up. She had no arguments, only «I waaaant».
«You have a desire — you will have an undesire!» — I said my own favourite quote to myself. Well, and the case was closed and not subject to revision.
But the next day, Oksana (for the first time in her life) drops her phone and it shatters. It’s the end, totally broken.
And I had to go for a new one, with a “clear conscience”. And only quietly rejoiced and rubbed her hands Oksana.
This is a very simple example of how the unconscious works in the case of a conflict of interest, Some kind of alibi is created. Well, like, now there is nowhere to go, there is nothing to think about, you need to buy. And to have a clear conscience.
But such moments are not beneficial to the individual. Of course, it is better to identify needs and either meet them or negotiate with yourself.
But it is to negotiate, or better to say, to cooperate, than to give orders to yourself.
The unconscious ignored all orders. Build as he wants and all.
And how many times did I get sick so that I didn’t have to go or go where I didn’t want to go?
There is no right myself to be honest, I don’t want to go and give up. But then “better” to get sick, then everything is OK so you can’t go.
But I’m sick, and not for fun, but in earnest.
And these are just the simplest examples, so to speak — single-pass.
And if we take more serious situations, for example, the unconscious destruction (bankruptcy, etc.) of a business, career, etc.? There are already more complex schemes of the unconscious builds and stretches in time.
This is one of examples which is called self-sabotage.
I will explain the topic in more detail later, using more complex examples.
