I don’t think I will reveal any special secrets, but I will write on this topic.
Over the past decades, people have been trained to physical hygiene. From morning to night we’re enjoying the advertising about how to remove bacteria on teeth, hands, feet, in the toilet, under the toilet, on the side of the toilet, in the bath, in the water pipe, under the arms, between the toes, and so on, so on.
New realities have added gloves, masks, etc.
But they don’t really teach or advertise how to keep the mental hygiene. And it is well studied. Personally, I think it’s more important than body hygiene. Don’t just attribute to me the rejection of the corporeal. It’s just that there are no problems with it and humanity is accustomed to it.
In today’s reality (and always), it is necessary to learn mental hygiene.
This applies to everyone without exception, but especially entrepreneurs, managers, and everyone who is responsible not only for themselves.
What is the psychological hygiene?
This is the rejection of any information from outside, and the maximum concentration on yourself.
How does it look practically?
Turn off the TV and everything that brings news. If you are a manager, ask the lawyers, bookkeepers, secretary, etc., to collect the necessary information in their sector of responsibility. Bookkeeper follows the news on taxes, % rates, deferrals, etc.
Then he writes you a dry report on regulations, new introductions, etc.
It is very important that the report is purely informative without emotional color. It is better to write, because personal communication unconsciously conveys the emotions of the carrier. And you get infected without even realizing it. You “suddenly” have anxiety, all sorts of thoughts, experiences, etc.
And so with all responsible persons.
Next, stop communicating with «panic monsters». These «beautiful» people are the main carriers of mental infection. If suddenly, this category includes a relative or a person with whom You can not communicate. Listen to them without listening at all. Ie, show diplomacy, pretend, but do not emotionally turn on. It’s better to refer to something and stop the dialogue. I personally put the phone down on speakerphone and do other things, sometimes putting in «Yes, of course, what a nightmare», or something like that.
